Tracy Lauren Marrow, known by her stage name Ice-T, is an American rapper, actress, musician and producer. He started his career as an underground rapper in the 1980s and was signed to Sire Records in 1987, when he released his debut album, Rhyme Pays - the second hip-hop album to carry a local label. The following year, he founded the Rhyme $ yndicate Records label and released another album, Power, which was released in platinum. He also released a number of other albums which won gold titles. He co-founded the heavy metal band Body Count, which he featured on the 1991 rap album O.G. Original Gangster, on the track called "Body Count". The band released their debut album in 1992. Ice-T encountered controversy over their song "Cop Killer", the lyrics which speak of the murder of police officers. Ice-T has asked to be released from his contract with Warner Bros. His record, and his next solo album, Home Invasion, was released later in February 1993 through Priority Records.

Tracy Marrow is a famed rapper and the founder of the heavy metal band Body Count, best known for the controversial 1992 single"Cop Killer". Despite the anti-police theme of his best-known song, he went on to play a cop on the long-running NBC drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
